Vox Species
The Vox are a species of avian humanoids defined by three constants: their dependency on nitrogen, their biomechanical cortical stacks, and the rigid arkship society that shapes every aspect of their existence. They are not a gentle species, nor a simple one. They are survivors built by a system that has no interest in their happiness — only their function.
Biology & Physiology
Vox are bird-like humanoids ranging from 61 to 183 centimeters in height, with beaks, plumage, and avian features that vary widely based on original work designation. Some rare individuals have been biologically modified to extreme extents — additional eyes, split beaks, extra limbs — though these cases are unusual even by Vox standards.
Full breakdowns of Vox biology can be found in:
Society & Culture
Vox society is built entirely around the arkship — a massive vessel governed by an Apex, a semi-divine authority whose will is absolute. Social position is determined by cortical stack quality and caste assignment, and advancement is neither easy nor guaranteed. The system is designed to keep Vox exactly where they are placed.
Full breakdowns of Vox society can be found in:
Life & Identity
From awakening to true death, a Vox's life is shaped by obligation, hierarchy, and the quiet question of whether any of it was ever really their choice. Some never ask that question. Others can never stop.
A Note On Hapebeti
Hapebeti is a Vox Primalis operating outside of traditional arkship structure. He does not fit neatly into the system this page describes — and that tension is precisely what makes him interesting. Where Vox society says function, he says curiosity. Where it says obey, he says understand.
More on him can be found in Hapebeti's Overview.
